The long anticipated St. Regis Hong Kong has opened its doors this April 2019 and it was nothing less than extraordinary. With its luxe services, beautiful décor, prime location and attractive amenities, there’s no doubt that St Regis will be a popular choice for many travelers. As a treat for myself, I booked a one night staycation and was thoroughly impressed with the traditional but modern décor and their top notch service (each room comes with a Butler). I was so happy to spend two days in this tranquil atmosphere I was devastated when I had to check out.
The St. Regis has been around since 1904 and has been international recognized as a luxury five star hotel. They pride themselves on ensuring guests the best service possible. Each room comes with a Butler who are available 24/7 and you can even message them on WeChat. Traditions are still alive in the St. Regis like the 5:30PM St. Regis Champagne Sabering to signal “violet hour” in The Drawing Room. Did you know the first bloody mary was created in the St. Regis. I was lucky to have tried the HK versions at the St. Regis Bar in which they added HK flavors to it like soy sauce (I preferred the original recipe). They also offer many HK and NY inspired cocktails. Look out for the beautiful mural that the bartender can explain the story behind as you sip your drink
There are many dining options from afternoon tea in the beautiful high ceiling and natural light Drawing Room to their French fine dining restaurant. L’Envol. I absolutely love the palette of beige, white and gold accents of the restaurant. It’s romantic vibes is a great place for date night and they even have a dedicated table for proposals. They also have Rùn, the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant inspired by a tea pavilion. You can book private rooms that host about 16 guests for a more intimate gathering.
Checking into the hotel was quick and easy with their in-room check in. The butler has actually emailed me beforehand to ask for any services to be done before I arrive. The room was elegant but modern with a neutral palette but orange tone and glossy elements with soft furnishings. Not only attention to detail, but the entire room felt airy and comfortable which makes you want to never leave the hotel room. The bathroom was a standard look and feel of most St. regis hotels with a beautiful white tub and a TV built into the wall for a relaxing evening bath. The shower has many shower heads and it was the perfect pressure that makes you feel hugged by the water. Lastly, the bed was the perfect firm and melt-in-the-bed combination that makes you want to snooze that alarm in the morning 5 times.
We opt for breakfast in the room in the morning which was organized by the butler. There were various breakfast selections to choose from and I ended up selecting the Healthy option. It came with gluten free break basket, smoothie bowl, fruits and a green juice. The other options were the Chinese breakfast which was congee and dim sum, continental and much more.
I was very happy with my short staycation at the St. Regis Hong Kong. Their service has exceeded by expectations and will definitely return to another St. Regis location in the near future.
